MAA Action Week – Celebrate 250. Advocate for Tomorrow.

Today kicks off the national Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) annual MAA Action Week (May 11 - 15, 2026) — a nationwide effort to grow participation in the FREE grassroots advocacy platform that strengthens our industry's voice. This annual join-and-renew period encourages both new and current MAA members to engage throughout the week and reaffirm their commitment to our collective advocacy efforts. Our company is aiming for 100% participation, so please take a moment to join or renew your MAA membership.

This year's theme - Celebrate 250. Advocate for Tomorrow. – highlights the mortgage industry's long role in helping families and communities thrive.

MAA Action Week is our opportunity to honor that legacy while stepping forward to shape what comes next. When we raise our collective voice, we help ensure policymakers understand the real impact of our industry and the importance of a strong, accessible housing market.

Over the past year, our advocacy delivered major wins, including curbing abusive mortgage credit trigger leads, restoring the VA's partial claims authority to help veterans avoid foreclosure, and preserving key pro-housing tax provisions that support investment in commercial and residential real estate.

MBA continues to focus on helping to shape bipartisan housing legislation, protecting essential real estate tax incentives, long-term reauthorization of NFIP and TRIA, swift implementation of the VA's new loss-mitigation authority, updating FHA Multifamily loan limits, improving GSE credit score pricing fairness, and promoting responsible AI use alongside a workable national data-privacy framework.

During this important week, be sure to join the MBA Townhall: MAA Action Week Special Edition & Quarterly Briefing on Thursday at 3:00 PM ET, featuring updates from MBA President & CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB, and SVP of Legislative & Political Affairs Bill Killmer.

250 years of progress brought us here. Your voice helps shape where we go next.

Thanks for being part of this work.
