JOINT COMMITTEES (Residential & Commercial) Affordable Housing & Emerging Markets Committee (Residential & Commercial) Addresses issues associated with the expansion of homeownership opportunities for low and moderate income homebuyers; monitors industry practices in the Washington metropolitan area relating to fair lending and affordable housing. It is composed of those commercial members looking to actively participate in the advocacy of the commercial finance industry in Metropolitan Washington. The Council provides educational, networking and charitable giving opportunities for member companies and the regional community. It also lobbies on behalf of the commercial real estate industry in state and local legislatures, and markets to the borrowing public the benefits of doing business with MBA/MW members for financing and associated services. The Council plans & hosts events focusing on the commercial market, including an annual Spring commercial real estate update, Commercial Fall seminar and several networking events.
